Dental radiographs (x-rays) are taken in order to provide your dentist with the ability to properly diagnose any disease or pathology at cannot be clinically detected. The comprehensive oral evaluation also includes a thorough periodontal (gum) exam, oral cancer screening, and TMJ evaluation. We will also examine your occlusion or “bite” to check for any bite problems or evidence of teeth grinding. Diagnostics impressions, models, and photographs may also be taken to aid in diagnosis. Digital Radiographs (X-Rays):
We utilize advanced digital radiographs, providing high-resolution imaging with significantly reduced radiation exposure, and our state-of-the-art intra-oral cameras allow for detailed, real-time visualization of oral health, ensuring precise diagnostics and personalized treatment plans. By integrating these leading-edge technologies, we deliver exceptional care and maintain our position as a leader in dental excellence.
We offer one of the latest technological advances in dentistry with digital radiography (X-rays). A sensor is placed in the mouth, and a computer generates an image in less than 30 seconds as opposed to the general 4-6 minute wait time for images taken on dental film. These X-rays can also be enhanced on the computer and enlarged. The patient can more easily see the image on a monitor, which allows for better communication between the doctors and our patients.
Many patients have commented on how these images have helped them see and understand their situation better. There are many guidelines that we follow to assure your safety while still allowing us to make proper diagnoses. Radiographs allow us to see everything we cannot see with our own eyes. Radiographs enable us to detect cavities between your teeth, determine bone level, and analyze the health of your bone. We can also examine the roots and nerves of teeth, diagnose lesions such as cysts or tumors, as well as assess damage when trauma occurs.
Dental radiographs are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely minimal. Digital imaging allows us to store patient images, and enables us to quickly and easily transfer them to specialists or insurance companies.

As a largely paperless office, we understand how busy you are and we value your time. Records of your care are also in electronic form, making for rapid and accurate access. This paperless environment also allows us to streamline your care and quickly communicate with specialists.
Intra-oral Camera:
An intraoral camera is a very small camera that fits in your mouth. The intraoral camera allows our practice to view clear, precise images of your mouth, teeth and gums. These clear, defined, enlarged images allow us to see details that may be missed by standard mirror examinations. This enhances our ability to make an accurate and potentially faster diagnosis with less chair-time for you.
Intraoral cameras also enable our practice to save your images in our office computer, and provide a permanent record of conditions and treatments. These images can be printed for you, other specialists, the dental lab and insurance companies.
